Soberise’s Support Circles are built on trust, respect, and shared commitment to sobriety. These guidelines help keep our community safe and supportive for everyone.
Our Values
Every member of Soberise deserves:
- To be treated with dignity and compassion
- A safe space to share their journey without judgment
- Honest, supportive peer connection
- Privacy and confidentiality within their circle
What We Encourage
- Share your experience, strength, and progress
- Celebrate milestones — yours and others’
- Offer encouragement during difficult days
- Ask for support when you need it
- Be honest about setbacks — relapses are part of many journeys
- Respect different paths to recovery
What Is Not Allowed
The following will result in content removal and may result in account suspension:
- Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks on other members
- Sharing graphic content, explicit material, or content that glorifies substance use
- Promoting or advertising substances, products, or services
- Sharing another member’s personal information without consent
- Medical advice presented as fact (share experiences, not diagnoses)
- Spam, self-promotion, or off-topic commercial content
- Content that encourages self-harm or dangerous behavior
Crisis Situations
Soberise is NOT a crisis service. If you or someone in your circle expresses thoughts of self-harm or suicide:
- Encourage them to contact a crisis helpline immediately.
- Visit findahelpline.com to find free, confidential support services available in your country.
- In case of immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or go to the nearest hospital.

Anonymity and Privacy
- You control your display name — you do not need to use your real name
- What is shared in a Support Circle stays in that circle
- Do not screenshot or share other members’ private posts outside the app
- Respect when members choose to remain anonymous
Reporting
If you see content that violates these guidelines:
- Use the in-app “Report” button on any post
- Email hello@soberise.net for urgent concerns
We review all reports and take action within 24–48 hours.
Enforcement
Violations may result in:
- Content removal
- Warning message
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent account removal (for severe or repeated violations)
We use human review for reported content. We do not use automated moderation for final decisions affecting account status.

This community exists because recovery is hard, and doing it alone is harder. We ask that every member treat others with the same compassion they would want shown to themselves on their most difficult days.
